One of my favorite things about the Bay Area is that it’s always easy to find something fun to do. Whether it be a cultural festival or free films in the park, there’s something fun to do every month. Fill your September social calendar with these upcoming events:
Sunday, September 9: A classic East Bay event is the Solano Avenue Stroll. It’s a fair that stretches from the top to the bottom of Solano Avenue (from Berkeley to Albany). There’s over a mile of vendors, lots of yummy food from different cultures, arts and crafts, and live music on almost every block!
Saturday & Sunday, September 15-16: If you love art, wine, or both, check out the Lafayette Art & Wine Festival. The theme is “Summer Love”, and there will be arts and crafts, live entertainment, activities for kids, food, wine, beer, and more!
Saturday & Sunday, September 15-16: This event is for the animal lovers and owners (and soon-to-be owners). The Bay Area Pet Fair at the Alameda County Fair Grounds in Pleasanton is from 10am-5pm. There’s free admission and free parking. There will be food carts, animals for adoption, classes and workshops, live music, and pet product vendor booths. Bring your pets or come alone and leave with a new best friend!
Saturday & Sunday, September 22-23: Listen to live Blues at the Bay Area Blues Festival in Downtown Martinez. The fun includes more than just music; there will be food, beer and wine, and outdoor activities!
Saturday & Sunday, September 23-24: As an Iranian, I am very excited to share that the annual Iranian Film Festival (IFF) will be happening this September in San Francisco. IFF is the first independent Iranian film festival to take place outside of Iran. There will be short films and feature-length films, and some of the filmmakers will be at the festival as well!
