Fall is finally upon us and what an exciting and eventful month of October! This is my favorite time of the year in the Bay Area because there are events each and every weekend. From film festivals to family-friendly celebrations, fill your October calendar with a range of spectacular activities listed below. 

October 1-8, 2018: San Francisco Fleet Week

Launching almost 40 years ago, the San Francisco Fleet Week is taking place this October weekend on the Marina Green. SFFW supports and honors the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces. Additionally, this event promotes training and education programs to build a lasting relationship with civilian and military forces. October 4-14, 2018: Mill Valley Film Festival

Since 1977, the Mill Valley Film Festival has transformed from a simple, three-day event into an eleven-day cinema experience. The festival welcomes more than 200 filmmakers representing 50 countries. Audiences will enjoy a variety of films shown around the world. MVFF is internationally recognized and has been known to introduce the careers of new film and filmmakers. October 13-14, 2018: Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival 

What better way to get into the Halloween spirit then visit the world-famous Half Moon Bay Art and Pumpkin Festival. Come to enjoy the breath-taking views of seaside farm country, a pick-your-own pumpkin patch, and the beauty the Pumpkin Capital of the World offers! October 18-20, 2018: Autumn Lights Festival, Lake Merritt 

The Autumn Lights Festival is a wildly popular, three-night event benefiting the Gardens at Lake Merritt. This community event has become unique Oakland and is fun for all ages.
