Thursday, August 2, 16, & 30: Are you a movie lover? Check out Movies at Jack London Square on the Ferry Lawn! Bring your lawn chairs and blankets for a cozy summer night on the Oakland waterfront. Get snacks from vendors and participate in some pre-movie trivia! Films this month: 8/2 Bridesmaids, 8/16 Coco, 8/30 Black Panther.
Saturday & Sunday, August 18-19: Zucchini lovers unite! I have found a festival for the food lover in you: The Hayward Zucchini Festival. There will be live music, activities, and all yummy things zucchini from savory to sweet!
Saturday, August 25: A free festival dedicated to chalk drawings and chocolate...doesn’t that sound like a great time?! Check out the Chocolate & Chalk Art Festival from 10am-5pm in Berkeley’s Gourmet Ghetto. It’s simple: draw with chalk and eat chocolate. There are prizes for best chalk art and you can enjoy live entertainment while you indulge in delicious chocolate!
Saturday & Sunday, August 25-26: Celebrate Chinese culture at the Oakland Chinatown Festival at the end of the month! There will be food, arts and crafts, live music, and traditional dance performances.
Saturday & Sunday, August 25-26: If you want to end your month by celebrating pride, head to the Silicon Valley Pride Parade! Saturday’s fun is from 6-11pm, and Sunday’s is from 12-6pm. There will be live entertainment, vendors, and lots of pride!
