Every Saturday, Tuesday, and Thursday, rain or shine, you can head to the Berkeley Farmers’ Markets for fresh, locally-sourced produce. These farmers’ markets are hosted by The Ecology Center of Berkeley, and they are open-air markets that feature local farm-fresh produce and other products. The Downtown Berkeley market is on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Center Street at MLK Jr. Way, the South Berkeley market is on Tuesdays from 2:00 pm – 6:30 pm on Adeline Street and 63rd Street, and the North Berkeley market (my go-to) is every Thursday from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Shattuck Avenue at Rose Street. My favorite part of the market? The fresh eggs from Riverdog Farm. Their organic, sustainably produced eggs are absolutely delicious, and I feel great about supporting such a great business. Be sure to get there early if you want to buy some because they go quick!
